Beginning January 1, 2007. A photo a day.

In December 2006 I was pointed to the Project 365 site. The concept is not a new one: do something every day for a year and document it on the Web. I’ve seen various examples of this over the years, and liked the idea of creating a discrete body of work to document life. I’ve never had success with keeping regular written diaries, but like taking pictures and happened to receive a nice new camera for Christmas, so here we are.

I’m also acutely aware of how much I forget. I have photos of people without names, events I no longer recall, places I’ve been but am unsure exactly when… it’s sad, really. And despite my love for data and databases, I’ve yet to embark on a project to catalogue the media in my life. I’m hoping Project 365 will provide the incentive needed to get to work on this.
