The concept of food as the subject of sculpture is nothing new, whether used as a medium or subject (or both). Naturally, knitters and crocheters have gotten involved (heck, even I’ve had a shot at it).
Well, there’s a new player in the food-as-fiber-sculpture-subject game. Joy Kampia is a recent art school graduate, and this article tells of her forays into crocheted food sculpture (including the burger dress pictured here and her impressive senior thesis project, a table set for eight, with fully crocheted meals, flatware, and sundry dinner-table items).
